UOP Burnout - A 3D Animated Racing Game at University Of Plymouth, Devon
A 3D Animated Racing game built using Directx 10 and C++ while studying at University Of Plymouth. Plymouth University Assignment - SOFT322 - Programming For Entertainment Systems.
The game can be controlled by the keyboard, but more options are available to you if you use the Xbox 360 controller. To move the car you can either press the forward directional arrow on the keyboard, or use left stick on the Xbox 360 controller. When in motion, you will be able to throw beer cans; this can be achieved by clicking the mouse or by pressing the X button on the Xbox controller. However, the user can only fire a maximum of five beer cans; to fire more, you will need to pick up beer cans from the road.
During the game the lights inside the tunnel will flicker - decreasing visibility. While you are in motion you will also need to make sure you avoid any road cones. When colliding with the road cones, the car will slow down and spin allowing the computer to take the lead. You also want to look out for the invisible t-shirt found on the road. If you collect the t-shirt you will turn invisible allowing you to drive through any objects on the road (invisibility lasts for 20 seconds).
