The brief for this project was to design and develop a comprehensive website that provides a vast amount of information about the high quality residential and non-residential extreme sport activities in Bude, Cornwall. These programmes are designed for schools, colleges and youth organisations; activity sessions for families, individuals and groups of friends as well as advanced training and qualification courses.
One of the key requirements was that the website had to be clear but have an impact at the same time, so that set the groundwork from the outset. With this in mind, it was time to give it a look that would really portray the adrenalin rush associated with extreme sports. This meant using their photography as much as possible without distracting them from reading the content about the various activities.
To ensure the website was clear the website design utilised a grid system due to the vast amount of content and pages. This allowed the content and the graphical elements to be organised in a relational, easy to absorb manner.

This project involved producing marketing materials to promote Maids That Sew as well as a revamp on the WordPress Website Design and Development
The client wanted their existing website modernising and made more professional but keeping the same colours and style of the existing branding. It was also a requirement that bunting played a key part in the design, therefore this was used as decoration in the background texture of the website. Various designs were created – abstract, bird’s eye view and overlaying of Bunting to give depth to the website. With the website design established the rest of the process was straightforward. The only requirement was to use the WordPress for the website. This gives the client complete control of adding custom pages to the website as well as allowing the client to customise the design and layout of each page. Online shopping facility was also integrated into the website.
It was such a luxury to have experimentation time to play with different type of texture styles and I’m very thankful to Maids That Sew for allowing me such a luxury!

This project involved collaborating with Rachael Barton Coates (Another Bude Based Designer) to develop a website for a luxury hotel in Bude, Cornwall called – The Beach.
The main challenge was thinking about how it would handle high-resolution slideshow images in the background of the website. As a result, the solution was to immediately show a low resolution image whilst preloading the high-resolution images. The script will then trigger a block of code when images have been preloaded and then start iterating through the images in the slideshow.
I really enjoyed this website development project as its been way too long since I dipped my toe into advanced jQuery.

Scott Marshall Photography -is a new business starting up in Bude, Cornwall, offering professional wedding photographer covering the whole of the South West.
The primary task was to design and develop a website that focused on showing off the wedding photography. However, unlike most other photography websites they do not utilise the whole screen. Therefore, it was decided that a slideshow which scales the wedding images automatically to the size of the users screen would be the perfect solution. Another reason behind this is that research has proven that if the user is not interested within the first 1-3 seconds they will close the website immediately. The slideshow on the gallery page was custom built using jQuery that allowed custom features to be implemented allowing smooth transitions between the images. Additionally, a private client area was developed that allows customers to purchase individual photos via Paypal payment service.

This project involved designing and developing a bespoke ecommerce website design for a family business producing high quality poultry and pork products.
As the branding was already established, the client had some early thoughts for the website design. After a small discussion, it was decided that a tweed and leather textures would work perfectly and would match the quality of the branding and products being produced.
The website was developed to communicate with a bespoke backed management system allowing the client to upload their own products along with custom product options (such as weights). Furthermore, the system allowed the client to upload any recent activities from the farm straight onto the website (including videos, pictures and links)

ThrowEmBalls is a brand new innovative app development (for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Android) allowing you to throw specific balls into sports related objects and get the highest score in 90 seconds. Great FUN!!
As the game is a fantastic showcase of bright explosive colours and friendly interface design, the website design had to reflect exactly that. So with a handful of elements taken from the game design, I set to work creating a unique and interesting dynamic website. The fact that I designed the game as well, made designing the website even more enjoyable as I did not have any limits :)
A custom built unique WordPress blog was designed and developed to work seamlessly with the current colour scheme.
As with any other personal projects I always enjoy doing them, however there was something particular about this one that I really did enjoy!
This project involved a bespoke website design, development and unique photo realistic 3d rendering for Resin8 in Cornwall, UK
Following the realignment and rebranding of their business a new website was required. The key selling point that makes the website stand out from the competition is the photo realistic 3d surfboard renders of their high performance surfboards in Cornwall. This included semi-interactions allowing the user to see bigger renders of the surfboards. By using 3D renders as opposed to photographs allowed for more dynamic pictures of the surfboards resulting in an excellent 3d product visualisation.
In addition to this, live interaction with Facebook’s API to retrieve the latest posts (that displays the relevant media to match the style of the website design) and to automatically post back to their Facebook Fanpage was developed.

This project involved a golf website design and graphic designs for a local golf company based in Bude, Cornwall
The brief for this project was to revamp the current website so that the opening times and the Driving Range Opening could be updated every day. The website is now live and well worth a look if you’re into playing golf.
The inspiration for the website design came from the scorecards that golfers have as they’re going around the course. The idea was to replicate and give off the impression that the website is printed on a scorecard.
The website itself retrieves the latest twitter message and uses Google fonts to give the effect that someone has written on the scorecard. It also connects to Yahoo’s Weather API to retrieve the latest weather conditions.
